Guided Group Walking Holidays

Who goes on a walkabout holiday, and who will be in my group?

Group holidays are open to and are equally suitable for, solo holidaymakers, single travellers, couples and small groups of friends. Walking programmes are customised to suit the fitness, ambitions and age of the group. Enjoying the company of the other people in the group is an important element in our successful holidays. This is facilitated by our policy of organising people into groups of similar fitness, ambitions and age.

In our experience, these more or less homogeneous groups get on well and have a great time together. In addition, our walking programmes are customised as finely as possible to meet the needs and interests of each particular group, once they are established. Our guided walking holidays are for small groups (we aim for a maximum of 12 with a minimum of 6).

What is included in the price?

All accommodation, half board, in 3* or 2* hotels in twin bedrooms with ensuite facilities (some triple bedrooms are available). Single rooms are available at a supplementary charge. However, on Alpine Trekking tours from Chamonix, e.g. the Tour du Mont Blanc and the Haute Route trek, a variety of accommodation is used, including small village inns and Alpine huts - we arrange accommodation from what is available en route.

Expert leadership for the day‘s walks, our staff lead the walks and are available to give advice and information on the walks, fitness, equipment and any other relevant matters.

We will suggest and arrange evening activities and visits or activities for days or half days off if people want to take a rest from walking.

For arrival and departure days in Wales and the Lake District, detailed routes cards and notes for short unguided walks are available. These are for people who feel like a short morning, afternoon or evening walk in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

We provide a personalised booking service which enables us to:

1. Put together customized groups of people whose holiday requirements, and fitness levels match.
2. Fine tune programmes to suit each customized group.
3. Create programmes specifically to suit the needs of Private Group bookings.

This service is provided with careful consideration and organization to meet your particular needs.

To make a booking on a guided group holiday:

• Choose the venue.
• Identify the grade of walking that suits you.
• Select a date when holidays in your grade and age are available.
• Follow the procedure to make the booking either online using a credit card or debit card or download a booking form and return it to us with your deposit.
• We will apply your group discount to the final invoice
